Described as the jewel of the merchant mariners’ Masters, Mates & Pilots union, for almost 30 years, The Maritime Conference Center has proudly supported the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies (MITAGS) in its nonprofit mission to train leaders in the maritime industry. A beacon of advanced training and accommodations for mariners, the hotel and conference center also annually welcome thousands of guests from all sectors, from around the world.
Set on the picturesque MITAGS East Coast campus in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, the MCC offers a tranquil and inspirational backdrop that allows guests to focus on what truly matters— collaboration and innovation—free from the distractions of hustle and bustle.
We are thrilled to announce recent renovations to our Auditorium and Memorabilia Room. Our meeting spaces, including the Chesapeake Dining Room, now feature a new complete set of comfortable, upholstered chairs. With 232 contemporary, well-equipped guest rooms and suites, the MCC offers 100,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting space. This includes 55 function rooms, a tiered 282-seat auditorium with built-in AV, and an expansive corridor with room for 40 tabletop exhibitors. Whether you are planning a conference, reunion, workshop, or retreat for 10 or 500 guests, the MCC will accommodate you.

What is this place?
- The Maritime Conference Center sits on the campus of the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies (MITAGS), the official training facility of the International Organization of Masters, Mates and Pilots. The Maritime Conference Center supports the goals of MITAGS to provide career and safety training to those at sea. All facilities are owned and operated by a non-profit trust.
Can anyone have a meeting or conference at the Maritime Conference Center?
- Yes! Our largest customers are labor unions, government (federal, state, and local), nonprofits, associations, religious groups, fraternal groups, and private companies.
Do you have a hotel at the Maritime Conference Center?
- Yes! 232 guest rooms consisting of single queen, double queen, and one and two-bedroom suites.
Can I stay at your hotel if I’m not there for a meeting or event?
- Yes! Please call the hotel front desk at 410-859-5700 to check rates and availability.
Can we bring our own food/liquor for our meeting/event?
- No, the Maritime Conference Center is the only supplier of food and beverages for our guests to ensure quality, freshness, and adherence to food service laws and regulations.
Is this a union facility?
- Yes, all employees, hourly and management, are dues-paying members of the International Organization of Masters, Mates and Pilots.
How much do meetings cost?
- We make meeting planning as easy as possible using our Daily Meeting Package rate. Starting at $99 per guest per day (minimum of 10 guests). The package includes the meeting room, projector, screen, microphone, sound system, podium, flip charts, A.M. break, P.M. break, full buffet lunch, Wi-Fi, and parking. Tax is $2.34 per package. There are no additional service charges on the meeting package.
At the end of our meetings, our group likes to unwind with some snacks and drinks. Can we do that at the MCC?
- Yes! Join us at the the Deck Club Lounge, open from 4-midnight each day (depending on occupancy). We can arrange for hors d’oeuvres and beverages to be served near your meeting as well, at an additional cost.
